Reclaiming Narratives.

Redefining Futures.

About

Off The Rez Media is a Native-led media arts organization rooted in truth-telling, resistance, and reclamation. Through film, education, and community storytelling, we challenge harmful narratives, preserve Indigenous cultural memory, and amplify voices too often left out of history.

Founded by filmmaker Regina Dezbah Simons (Diné, Nakoda, Dakota), Off The Rez Media creates space for Native creators, youth, and elders to share their stories through programs that heal, teach, and transform. From curriculum and screenings to mentorship and workshops, our work dismantles stereotypes and inspires future generations of storytellers.

Mission

To decolonize storytelling by uplifting Indigenous voices in media and creating intentional spaces for truth, creativity, and connection.

Off The Rez Media creates films and educational programs that elevate Native stories, challenge dominant narratives, and inspire social change through education, film, and media arts.

Our programs include:

  • Community film screenings & facilitated talkbacks

  • Indigenous Youth Storytelling Labs

  • Curriculum development & educational outreach

  • Media literacy grounded in Indigenous perspectives
